"Team Do!Boo!" is our group of free spirited Korean American chicks. We bond over Korean food, Korean language lessons, and at the Korean bathhouse. It's been great bonding with other freaky Korean American women in Chicago. Get in touch if you want to join us! We're casual and fun.

BIO
Mia Park is happy to wear many hats in Chicago.

Yoga has changed her life and Mia's excited to share her love of it with individuals and groups. Go yoga!

In Chicago's acting community, "Miss Mia" has co-hosted the underground cable music show, Chic-A-Go-Go, for ten years. Mia is a member of SAG and AFTRA and has acted in independent movies, national commercials and industrial films for over eight years. In addition to MCing for groups like the Korean Consulate and the City of Chicago, Mia does voice over work and models. Mia graduated from the Meisner Program at Act One Studios with Ted Hoerl and Laura Sturm and has studied at Improv Olympic and Chicago Actor's Studio. She's performed in the Asian American theater groups Tea Company and Stir Friday Night and acts with Park Avenue Produce theater ensemble. Mia co-founded the Asian American theater company, A-Squared Theater Workshop where she produces and performs in their shows. She's starred in the indie film, "The Minx" which is available on Netflix.

In Chicago's music scene, Mia's played in over a dozen rock and jazz bands in Chicago since 1995. Mostly playing drums and singing in rock/pop bands, she's also drummed for jazz bassist Tatsu Aoki and played keyboards with Cats and Jammers and The Baltimores. She drums and sings in the female Asian American reunion rock trio, Kim and with a yet to named wonderful project.

As an Arts Administrator, Mia served as the Asian American Cultural Ambassador for The Old Town School of Folk Music and curated programs at the Chicago Cultural Center. She founded the art gang, "Team Do!Boo!" in January, 2004, with other free spirited and creative Korean American women who occasionally perform. She's always producing a variety of music or theater shows at any given time.

Mia's contributed to Chicago's non-profit community by working at Women In The Director's Chair and by teaching English at the Korean American Cultural Resource Center and the Korean Senior Center.

Mia is published in YELL-OH Girls!" and sometimes writes for Giant Robot and Roctober Magazines. She also edits an internet newsletter called, "Kick Ass", which features local and national information on entertainment, activism and Asian American events.

Mia served on several panels and workshops covering a wide range of interests including:
*New Trier High School - Busting Stereotypes seminar, speaker
*University of Illinois, Chicago - Asian American Women in the Arts, panelist
*Ladyfest Midwest - Color Me Bad: Ethnically Diverse Women in Entertainment, moderator
*Columbia Colleges' Bi-Annual Woman Warrior Festival 2003 & 2005 - moderator & performer

Mia served on the Hot House Art Gallery Committee and participated in Chicago's Asian American arts group, The Collective. She is a former member of the National Association of Asian American Professionals and currently belongs to the American Society of Composers and Publishers, the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, the Screen Actor's Guild, Independent Voters of Illinois/Independent Precinct Organization and was a Governor of The Recording Academy. She is also a voter deputy registrar.

For fun, Mia practices yoga & loves bicycling!

From amyceaton@sbcglobal.net :
"As I think most of you know, I started Mudlark Theater Company (www.mudlarktheater.org) several years ago. While it has been a fabulous adventure and I'm proud of the work we've done, I am desperately feeling the need for more support in order to keep it going. I am wearing too many hats, and half of them don't even look good on me.

So, long story short, if you or a trusted comrade that is not on this list are interested in any of the following areas, please give me a shout or forward this email along. I am all too aware that compensation is an issue for most of us- we certainly try to be as generous as we can-

The most pressing thing I'm looking for is a co-director for this fall's production of "The Hobbit"

We would also love to find any of the following:

directors
playwrights
a managing director (or someone who can do some combination of writing grants, helping with marketing and publicity, update the website, etc)
designers (specifically costume, set)
seamstresses, carpenters, etc
stage managers
workshop teachers

Fond regards to all you nice people-
Amy
